What a great week!  Our first trip to Alaska and we’ve seen more than we thought possible.  Many more bears than we expected (and closer too).  Didn’t think we’d see wolves, so that was special.  The fishing was fantastic, a huge variety and massive trout!  All the team were enthusiastic, friendly and very professional  A special thanks to Therese who always knew when a cup of tea would be welcome, and thanks to Paul for the wonderful cooking during the week.  The jet boat tour to the lake was the icing on the cake.

 Sincere thanks for an outstanding week.  All things considered, this was the best week of Rainbow Trout fishing in my 8 trips to Alaska including four in the Katmai area.  I will be “haunted” by the “strike” of the rainbows, the line peeling away, followed by the first leap.  It’s a great nightmare.  The entire staff was dedicated to providing a fun week for all and they succeeded.  Thanks again and I will be back as soon as I can.

To Alaska Adventures: It was like coming home to see you all again.  Fond memories remembered and new ones made.  The adage, that a man's life is not shortened by the time spent fishing, applies to our time with all the wonderful men and women we joined over the last week.  Thanks so much!  The Alaska sunshine made us appreciate the wonderful days on the river catching and releasing the great bounty of fish including Silvers on the lake and Rainbows up to 27 inches.  We will be thinking of all of you as we go back to our normal lives and dream of coming back to all of you again.

Air Madura is an Alaskan Adventure company operating its Dehavilland Bever float plane off Lake Hood in Anchorage Alaska.  Mark Madura, pilot and guide, specializes in custom adventure packages.  Mark has been flying his clients into Alaska Adventures Lodge on the Upper Alagnak for both overnights and multi day guided fishing on the Alagnak for many years.  We know when we see his plane fly over camp that some authentic anglers are coming in to fish with us on the Alagnak.
